A REAL PUB – unspoilt by progress..

Summer 2005 saw new faces take over Lincoln’s Tap and Spile, a proper town tavern on Hungate.

Pete and Terry, the licensees, share a passion for good beer and real music, especially blues.

Kayleigh and Liz help provide a friendly welcoming atmosphere to all with high standards of service and quality. 

The Tap has undergone a subtle transformation but remains true to its roots with live music scheduled every Friday night. Check the 'Gig Guide'.  

On a Sunday teatime, local musicians congregate for a jam session before the General Knowledge Quiz. 

There’s a Music Quiz on the second Wednesday of each month run by the legendary Chappo. The pub is the ‘home of circular chess’ on Thursdays.

The customer base is very diverse across all age and occupation ranges. The Tap welcomes everyone except those who don't!

The constantly changing range of six to eight well-kept cask conditioned ales includes many guests from local microbreweries and independents as well as the big names. All Cask Marque accredited for quality of course.

Freshly made baguettes are available Friday and Saturday lunchtimes and there are plans afoot to extend this menu.

The heated beer garden opened November 2007. 

As the big chains and government continue to destroy the British pub tradition, the Tap and Spile just gets better.

The future? Same concept as ever but see ‘News from the Tap’.
